Amy Smart is a former American model and actor. Her modelling career began in Italy, where she was raised and was born in California. Her acting career began in the year 1996, when she appeared in the TV film Her Costly Affair. Then, as a supporting character in the movie Starship Troopers she struggled very hard. It was a hard time for her to transition between modeling and acting because models were not thought of as actors, and they were usually assigned smaller roles that were insignificant. Amy was determined to keep trying. She climbed the ladder to bigger roles. She began with The 70s series and Varsity Blues film. Amy then moved into leading roles in 2005's romantic comedy Just Friends starring Ryan Reynolds. Amy achieved the fame she'd been seeking for nearly 10 years when her film, Just Friends was released. She went on doing some major films such as the Crank series with Jason Statham and the series Shameless in which she portrayed an adored recurring character.
