Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington (Greek American) is a Greek American writer, syndicated-columnist and businesswoman. She was co-founder of The Huffington Post, is the CEO and founder of Thrive Global as well an writer of 15 novels. Arianna Huffington is a writer TV personality, philanthropist, and owner of the independently open online newsmagazine The Huffington Post. Originally from Greece, Arianna Huffington moved to England together with her family around age 16. In Cambridge University she earned a MA qualification in Economics. The first ever foreign-born student to be elected president of the highly regarded debating group The Cambridge Union, at 21, she was able to take over the presidency. In the years following her graduation, she was a prominent conservative syndicated journalist. In the years after that she launched The Huffington Post which featured critical commentary on the current politics. The celebrity she enjoyed helped her to convince several stars to voice their views regarding current affairs, the as well as politics and culture. Arianna was famous when she made the decision in 2003 to become an Independent candidate for the California Recall Election to replace former Governor Davis. She was also involved in the Detroit-based initiative that advocated for fuel-efficient automobiles. AOL acquired The Huffington Post from AOL in 2011. She was then made the president of AOL's media group. It was comprised of several AOL owned properties like Engadget AOL Style List and Patch Media. The parents of her were Elli as well as Konstantinos Stasinopoulos, a management consultant and journalist.
